To be an artist or writer means to become intimately acquainted with rejection.
There is no magical formula.
collaboration, to me, is one of the joys of playwriting. It affords me the perfect ratio of solitude and company. I got into to the theater to be with people I trusted and who generally saw the world the same I did. That’s why I still do it.
We’re living in an age where people are given permission, indeed often encouraged by our “leaders,” to view other as less than human…I’d just like the audience to see a bit of themselves, or those they care about in the characters.
